Senator Kelly Applauds Intel Investment in Arizona as State Poised to Lead in Semiconductor Sector

Today, Senator Kelly released the following statement after Intel announced that it will invest $20 billion to build two chips factories in Arizona:

“Intel has long recognized that Arizona is a great place to do business, and their continued investment in operations here will create thousands of high-paying jobs. Increasing domestic production of semiconductors is an economic and national security imperative, and this further shows that Arizona is poised to be a leader in this sector.”

Senator Kelly cosponsored and helped pass key elements of the CHIPS for America Act, which provides federal incentives for domestic semiconductor manufacturing designed to spur investment, and also makes investments in research and development of semiconductor technology. Senator Kelly is working with Republicans and Democrats, and the administration, to quickly fund the CHIPS for America Act in order to further American leadership and investment in domestic semiconductor manufacturing and research.
