ICYMI: From White House, Kelly Speaks About Federal Action to Address Border Crossings

Yesterday, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly spoke to the media at the White House before President Biden’s executive order announcement to reduce unauthorized crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Kelly described the consequences of a broken immigration system for Arizonans and how this measure will help address challenges after Senate Republicans twice walked away from a border deal this year.

“Arizona deserves a real solution to this problem at the border,” Kelly said. “This has been a problem that Washington has failed on for decades now. We recently had the opportunity to do something about this through strong bipartisan legislation. And, as we all know, that did not happen. […] Now, today, the President is going to announce what is a very good step forward in solving the border security part of this situation.”
