Symbolic votes hint at Senate priorities in conference for China-competition bill

Sen. Mark Kelly’s motion simply urged the conferees to ensure that funding to support semiconductor manufacturing and development made it into the final bill. The CHIPS portion of the bill has been one of the most important sections supported by the most lawmakers, and Arizona is a hub of the domestic semiconductor industry. Kelly’s motion passed via a voice vote.
