WATCH: Kelly Speaks on Senate Floor in Support of Amendment to Stop Tax Cuts for Billionaires

Today, as the Senate debated the Republican budget that slashes Medicaid and food assistance in order to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly proposed an amendment that would block tax breaks for anyone making more than $100 million per year.

“Giving a tax break to the richest people and most profitable corporations is a choice. And paying for it by kicking 17 million Americans off their health insurance is a choice,” Kelly said.

He continued, “We can help parents be able to take their kids to the doctor. We can keep seniors in their nursing homes. […] We can save health care for millions of Americans, if we strip out tax giveaways for individuals making more than $100 million a year.”
